Naboko molecular sieve rotors assist in the VOCs treatment of environmental protection enterprises

In May 2016, Qingdao Huashijie Environmental Protection Technology Co., Ltd. signed an order worth over 100 million yuan for VOCs (volatile organic compounds) treatment with more than a dozen automotive painting production lines of China's top ethnic brand automobiles.

The "molecular sieve adsorption and concentration rotor" independently developed and manufactured by the subsidiary Nabok Environmental Protection was included in the procurement list along with similar equipment produced by foreign companies such as those from Japan. Previously, the domestic automotive painting industry was only allowed to purchase imported equipment. Nabok's move broke the monopoly of foreign brands in VOCs treatment for automotive painting in China.

Among most industrial exhaust gases, high flow rate and low concentration are common emission forms of VOCs. Such exhaust gases are numerous in types, widely sourced, and complex in composition, making the treatment difficult. Usually, adsorption materials are used to first adsorb and concentrate the low-concentration exhaust gas, and then undergo condensation recovery, catalytic combustion or high-temperature incineration treatment. In the automotive production process, the advanced technology for treating VOCs generated by the painting process - the zeolite rotor adsorption and concentration technology - has long been monopolized by foreign suppliers from Japan and Germany. Due to the lack of core technology, domestic enterprises could only purchase equipment from foreign brands.

In response to the difficulties in treating high flow rate and low concentration VOCs, Huashijie Environmental Protection, which has been focusing on waste gas treatment for over a decade, uses the zeolite rotor for VOCs treatment. It adopts the molecular sieve adsorption and concentration rotor developed by Nabok and realizes batch production. This equipment was included in the first batch (set) of major environmental protection products in Shandong Province. So far, Nabok has over forty sets of equipment in operation at customer sites.

"This process has an adsorption efficiency of 90-98%, and has good thermal stability. It adsorbs and concentrates industrial exhaust gas, and the removed exhaust gas can be burned without pollution emissions. This equipment is 20% cheaper than similar foreign equipment and the supply period has been shortened by one-third," said a relevant person from Qingdao Huashijie Environmental Protection Technology Co., Ltd. Currently, the VOCs treatment industry still generally suffers from severe problems of technical hollowing out and homogenization. The core materials of this process still rely on imports. Developing competitive and cost-effective environmental protection materials is a heavy responsibility for environmental protection enterprises.
